Authors not used to submitting may find it useful to print out acopy of
this page. If you need help with submitting do not hesitate to contact
the editor. Submissions & Partial
Submissions
- The EMDR Practitioner welcomes submissions from authors who should
be at least Level 1 EMDR trained (see below for suggested subject areas).
- There is no upper limit to the length of an article, but if accepted,
authors should expect long articles to be published in sections.
- All submissions are received on the basis that, if accepted for publication,
copyright will rest with The EMDR Practitioner. In practice this will
mean that published articles must be referenced in an appropriate manner
for subsequent articles whether or not published in The EMDR Practitioner.
There is no payment for downloading copies of articles.
- All submissions should be written in British English.
- Submissions should be sent:
- via email to the editor,
marking the subject box: 'SUBMISSION'
- or on floppy disc saving:
- text files in 'rich text format' (e.g.. TEXT.rtf )
- image files in 'gif format' (e.g.. IMAGE.gif )
- or typed double spaced on white A4 (so that it can be digitally
scanned).
- All submissions must include (as appropriate to the submission) no
identifiable reference to any client involved.
- A statement MUST BE included that permission has been obtained from
any client involved to the effect that permission is granted to publish
an article on the Internet, in an anonymous manner and without any possibility
of identifying the client involved (please seek the editor's help if
needed).
- All submissions, must include the author's EMDR training (i.e.. L1,
L2, facilitator, trainer), together with a current and valid email address.
- In order to encourage those authors who would not normally commit
'pen to paper', The EMDR Practitioner is able to provide authors with
help in writing style and content. This method of submitting is called
'partial submission'. Utilisation of partial submission in no way guarantees
acceptance of any submission for publishing as decisions arrived at
via the normal peer review process will be final. To aid the process
of partial submission, an on-line galley-proofing system will operate
(see also PROOF READING below). If you are likely to need help in this
area please contact the editor.
Format For Submissions
- The EMDR Practitioner is a constantly developing journal so no definitive
(i.e.. absolute) format is intended other than in the form of the following
guidelines. Innovative formats are encouraged.
- TITLE,
- AUTHOR,
- EMDR-training status,
- ABSTRACT,
- TEXT using Harvard referencing (e.g.. Smith 1999, Smith & Brown
1998, Smith et al 1997),
- REFERENCES,
- PICTURES, DIAGRAMS, TABLES etc.
Please note:
- Hypertext links will be permitted embedded in the text, but will be
vetted and included entirely at the discretion of the editor.
- References to money should contain approximate EURO equivalents (e.g..
about E1 = £0.70 = $1.12).
Peer Review Process All
submissions other than e-mails to the editor/ replies to authors, book
reviews and news items will be subject to a peer review process. The decision
of the referees is binding. Feedback will be provided via e-mail and if
needed, a second review will take place upon receipt of an appropriately
amended resubmission.
Please note: It is recommended that all authors retain
a copy of their submission. Although once reviewed, submissions are returned
to authors with referee's comments, it is not advisable to rely on postal
return to retain copies of work done.
